Wireless net-surfing without a subscription

Passengers at Arlanda, Bromma and another 14 airports in Sweden will soon be able to connect wirelessly to the Internet without a special subscription. It will be the largest wireless network in Sweden that can be used by both the general public and companies.

âœStockholm-Arlanda Airport wants to be a transport and communications centre in Scandinavia, so it is natural that we have now developed opportunities for passengers to connect wirelessly to the Internet at the airport,â says Maria Wall Petrini, Head of Strategic Business Development at Arlanda.

At an early stage, Stockholm-Arlanda established a wireless local area network (WLAN) but was tied to a single Internet service provider (ISP) subscription, with coverage at designated sites in the terminals. The new network can be used by anyone with a laptop computer and a network card, and the network covers the entire airport area.
