The fact of exsistence of such passionate fans of one company giving me the feeling that Stefan Engeseth’s ideas about consumer revolution are totally wright, what do you think?

Nordic Design – The Boston Globe

Nordic Design – The Boston Globe Scandinavian open-face sandwiches are tasty works of art.

The Boston Globe published recently an interesting article about Smorbord: traditional Scandinavian sandviches, here a short excerpt:

Small open-face sandwiches are big in Scandinavia. The Norwegians call them smorbrod, meaning “buttered bread.” The Danish use a similar name – smorrebrod. To the Swedes, the sandwiches themselves are smorgas, while the more familiar term smorgasbord literally means “bread-and-butter table” and represents a selection of small hot and cold dishes – including sandwiches, of course – served buffet style.

ITC Teethreedee What’s New From ITC: October 2007 – ITCFonts.com

ITC Teethreedee turns old style letter shapes into edgy, rough-and-ready typographic statements. As drawn by Tomi Haaparanta, Teethreedee exudes a kind of Bruce Springsteen appeal: square-jawed, strong-armed, soft-spoken. You can be sure that headlines set in Teethreedee will be noticed and respected.

Last speakers confirmed for Designboost

designboostDesignboost is a novel concept at the Swedish design arena with its combination of workshops, lectures and exhibitions. The theme for 2007 is sustainable design and it will be discussed and questioned by the 25 speakers at the lecture date Thursday October 18. Today we release the names of the last 10 speakers.

Quite often only the environmental issues are brought forward in the discussion about sustainable design. At this years Designboost event we would like to broaden the view. We think it is important to turn things upside down. Sometimes left is actually right, says David Carlson, one of the founders behind Designboost.

We believe in knowledge exchange. The more you give, the more you get. Our goal is that Designboost will be characterised by new insight, new thoughts and preferably laughter, or as we put it; right, aha, haha, says Peer Eriksson, one of the Designboost founders.
