  Inspired by a recent New York Times piece that questioned whether the Mountain View search monopoly is morphing into a media company – which it is – Finnish blogger Timo Paloheimo promptly unveiled Google minus Google. Key in the word "YouTube," and the first result is Wikipedia.

Grieg Arkitekter AS created recently an interesting project called “Art and Culture Centre”. This is a green performing arts centre, school and fine arts museum. This building will have of facade with solar panels (ca 600m2), plans include wind mills and low power systems to make best use of avalible energy resorces. It is planned to use a maximum of local and ecological materials in the buildings construction. Project completion 2010.

On a round, Art Deco styled coffee table bearing a grease pencil inscription "1952" scrawled on the underside (purchased at a thrift store about 8 years ago & still needing refinishing/restoration):

Dansk staved teak sandwich board/tray designed by Ben Seibel (bought Spring, 2008, from a local used furniture, collectibles & antiques store – $25.00)

3 Mikasa Duplex covered sugar bowls designed by Ben Seibel (1960s) in avocado, yellow-gold and orange (lids exchanged & used for display & decor containers; from various thrift stores several years ago)

Upper left: one of 4 1940′s – 1950′s Thonet occasional chairs with steamed bent-ply legs & open, curved backrest (needing reupholstery * striped 60s-70′s vinyl not original fabic – $10 each at a local DAV, no longer in existance).
