Built in: 1943
Client:

In 1943 was the seven stories deep magazine of Kungsklippan inaugurated. The architect was Gunnar Asplund, who won the architectural competition in 1940. The Second World War and Asplund’s death delayed the project. Asplund’s work was taken over by Sven Ivar Lind who could not carry Asplund’s proposal in all aspects. Reading room and offices was opened first in 1959, 19 years after Asplund’s death. The premises were modernized in 2004. Furniture and furnishings are designed by John Kandell.

Mid century meets danish modern for thanksgiving.

This is our holiday change for the dining room. The Wall unit will go for sale but remain until then. The Bruno Mathsson style dining table a friend gave up his evening before turkey day and helped refinish it, turned out better than we expected! Really need to start remembering to take the before photos prior to these projects….next time for sure.
