Detroit 2008: Saab 9-4X BioPower Concept live reveal - Autoblog: “As part of the press conference that also introduced the Hummer HX concept and the GM-Coskata partnership this morning, GM/Saab finally revealed the Saab 9-4X BioPower concept. The CUV drove onto the stage under a shake of fake snow and out popped two dolled up ski bunnies (well, one bunny and a hare, as it were). “

The Dutch AutoTelegraaf auto site apparently leaked images of Saab 9-4X BioPower Concept. This Swedish 4×4 car will reportedly powered by typical Saabian 2.0-liter turbo four producing 245 horsepower, though if the engine is fueled with E85 Ethanol power increases to 300 hp and 400 Nm torque. It’ll also expected to get Saab’s latest XWD four-by setup that directs drive power to the front and rear axles and between the rear wheels via an “intelligent” rear-diff.
The 9-4X BioPower SUV looks production ready, and AutoTelegraaf claims that the Saab 9-4X BioPower will go into production this year at GM’s plant in Mexico and should go on sale in the USA not much later, Europe will follow in the following months.

Personally, I don’t liked design of Saab automobiles. They always seemed to me little bit strange (okay, it’s understanable since of influence of airplane design), and not so comfortable. Okay, I had no chance to seat on the driver’s place, and maybe I would changed my opinion after the drive…
But things changed some time ago, I noticed that lines of Saab cars become more humanistic, there no strange-curved windshields and unexpective ended back lines anymore.
Finally, they got a kick to design beautiful model series and now Saab introduced the model that deserves appreciation (drumroll): Lady and Gentlemens! Saab Aero X Concept!

FuturAuto, an annual award for innovation given by the Professional Journalists of the Automobile Press (Beroepsjournalisten van de AutomobielPers; BJAP) in Belgium, has been won this year by Saab BioPower.
Saab leads the premium segment in offering a model fuelled by bioethanol, an eco-friendly renewable energy source. The Saab 9-5 2.0t BioPower is not only kinder to the environment, it also produces more power and performance than its gasoline equivalent. It is already an outstanding sales success in Sweden, where more than 5,500 cars have been ordered following its launch last July.
