Qualifications required: Personality, creativity and a good idea for a new Muuto product within furniture, lighting or home accessories!

BACKGROUND / PRESS INFORMATION Muuto Talent Award was initiated in 2009, and so far we have had fantastic interest and support from students of more than 20 different schools. Obviously we hope that it will be even better this year!

Previous winners of the competition include Thörne & Johnsson with their Keep table that was subsequently launched in 2010 and last year’s winner Whatswhat Collective that submitted the floor lamp Pull that is due to be launched early 2012.

This year, we are hoping that even more students will participate and that we will, once again, find another new Muuto designer (or perhaps more).

We (and our potential new designers) would greatly appreciate if you could help us spread the word through your website, blog, facebook feed, twitter etc.

I have been a member on Fotolia for about 2 years. I have used it as a source for imaginery for my web and packaging design mockups.

Fotolia has a very large image database, totaling over 6.8 million images and 900,000+ illustrations. They do offer affiliate plans and subscriptions for buyers.

The review times for Fotolia differ greatly from day to day. Sometimes, the images will be reviewed mere minutes after submitting them, sometimes it takes several days.

Overall, I would recommend Fotolia as a stock image bank for quick and low-budget projects.

Glass, graphic and visual artist, Anne Haavind usually works with glass and large functional shapes. Anne grew up in Ekely, an artist colony in Oslo founded in the 1940s where among others, the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch lived and worked. Surrounded and inspired by creative minds from an early age, it was a logical step for her to go on to pursue a formal education as an artist herself. The influences of the Norwegian landscape shine through Annes Pieces. Glaciers, reflective light and the mountains as being among her inspirations for the hypnotically beautiful, yet functional forms she creates. “I’m fascinated by the possibilities and challenges related to working with glass,” she says. I run the company single handedly and wish to keep the business small and thus produce exclusive merchandise”.
