Some time ago I was stumbled upon this site and now its feed among of others in my feedreader. It’s a site of Jen Funk Segrest, a web designer and IKEA fan who lives near Cincinnati, Ohio.
In her blog she patiently documentating every step of progress of newcoming IKEA store in West Chester, Ohio. It’s really fun to read how she describes the phases of construction and opening ruckus. OHIKEA has a good collection of IKEA’s related links too.

Ten Swedish Designers was founded in 1970, when a group of ten young textile artists and designers joined together. They had a previous collective experience of having their designs rejected by the Swedish textile industry, with motivations asserting that their designed patterns were “unsaleable, too advanced and non-commercial”.
The aim of Ten Swedish Designers was for the designers themselves to take active part and control the entire production process, from the initial sketch to the printed fabric on display in the shop.
Since the start in 1970 Ten Swedish Designers have presented more than 30 successful collections comprising of some 600 printed fabrics and wallpapers. The group has exhibited at a large number of museums, in Sweden and throughout the world.

Electrolux Design Lab is one of well known and most influential competitions in design society. The annual competition is held already fifth time and now they annonces the 8 finalists for Design Lab 2007.
Hundreds of design students from around the world entered this year’s competition and were present their ideas for eco-friendly and sustainable household appliances and solutions for 2020. The final eight contestants have been invited to attend the final judging event and award ceremony, which will take place on November 28, 2007 in Paris. The winner of Electrolux Design Lab 2007 recieves a First Prize of 5,000 Euro and a six-month internship at one of global design centers of Electrolux.
